The TREASURES of LIFE

Nina Bissett

As a little girl growing up in a small southern Indiana town, I dreamed of becoming a teacher. With an intense yet colorful imagination, I would line up my students in a "classroom" which was conveniently located in my bedroom! My class consisted of twenty-some hand sewed animals and dolls which my mother had made through the years. I would "borrow" books from my older brother and some of my four older sisters and proceed to teach algebra and Spanish to my diversified and extremely well-behaved students. That fledging desire to teach others continued throughout the following years. And without surprise to my family and friends, I entered college destined to find a satisfying and passionate career in teaching.

I've not been disappointed! I have had the joy of serving young people of all ages in both public schools and Christian schools as a teacher and administrator along with experience as a program director and therapist through the National Institute for Learning Development. I am blessed to hold a BA in Education from David Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee; a MA in Christian School Administration from Grace College in Winona Lake, Indiana; and an EdD in Higher Education Administration and Teaching from Regent University in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

And now I have the joy of taking all the experiences that I have had in teaching God's children of all ages (yes, including dolls and stuffed animals!) to share them with you through the gift of writing. May your life be enriched by the treasures posted on this web site!

Terry Scudamore

Terry Scudamore has taught early and lower elementary grades for 25 years including many years of working with children that learn differently.  Varying  experiences have been woven into the fiber of those years. This gives a wealth of personal interactions to draw from for the characters of her stories. Her two daughters and five grandchildren have added to the treasure chest of story material.

Most of all, the author wishes to see Jesus reflected from the  pages of her books. He is truly the Author and Finisher of our lives. To Jesus be all glory, honor, and praise.

Nickolette Heimer

Her name is Nickolette (aka: “Nicky”) Heimer, and she loves the Lord Jesus. As a child, Nicky always enjoyed crayons and coloring books which, as she grew older, turned into “doodling”. She experimented with acrylic paints, inks, water colors, charcoal, and colored chalk sticks.

At one point of time after the illness and death of her mother, Nicky looked at her hands and asked the Lord if He could use them for artwork; she wanted a way to show others how the Lord loves each of them just as He loved and comforted her.

With Jesus as the center of concentration,  Nicky now listens to Christian music as she dwells on the Lord’s attributes and character. Jesus and His children become expressively alive as she applies fine layers of chalk pastels and watercolor. Nicky believes, it IS all about HIM and His great and awesome love.
